Sailom Bang Pu is an arty complex court located just an hour’s drive from Bangkok on Bang Pu beach.
Though it’s not the kind of beach where you will swim it is still worth the drive if you want to chill in a pleasant designed environment.
Sailom Bang Pu
Sailom Bang Pu is a giant Art design food court with 2 restaurants and 2 coffee shops facing the sea.
The two restaurants offer fresh seafood in Thai Style in a ceramic decoration environment and a part of the service is made by some robots bringing your food to the table which is kind of fun.
The seafood are very fresh and the cooking is good.
The coffee shop at the entrance (Ceramic Coffee) is selling very nice potteries and ceramics at a very reasonable price, however, they are much better at doing art than coffee, they serve very average coffee and their specialty is a banana pancake but I will recommend skipping the F&B there and go to Afternoon Bangkok a hundred meters away, where you can find a wider range of sweets and food.
Afternoon Bangkok is serving excellent drinks, try their iced chocolate (฿ 160) and their blueberries, and banana smoothies (฿ 160).
They also offer desserts that look very nice butterscotch toast ฿195, Dark Chocolate cake ฿195, and Coconut homemade ice cream.
On the savory side, you only have the choice between a sour pork fried rice (฿ 240) and a double hot dog with pickles (฿ 248). Both are correct.
Afternoon Bangkok also offers good quality live music, the singer of Sunday (Nut) has a wonderful voice and plays popular Thai Tunes as famous western ones.
Sailom Bang Pu is a nice place to spend the afternoon or the day away from crowded Bangkok.
