Taking your motorbike or car to Koh Samui? If like me you love to ride and it’s your first choice of travel, you might wonder and have questions about your trip to Koh Samui and if yes or not you can travel with your motorbike there.

So can you take your motorbike or car to Koh Samui? The answer is YES and it’s easy.

Companies who offer Ferry Trip with vehicles to Koh Samui

Two major companies are doing that daily and every hour from Donsak Pier in Surat Thani where it’s the shortest trip to Ko Samui Nathon Pier and Ko Phangan.

The Seatran Ferry to Koh Samui takes 1.30 hours and you have a Ferry every hour from 5 am to 7 pm.

Accommodations nearby

If you choose to leave early you can sleep near the Pier, there are several small hotels and options, I choose the Baan Suan Resort Donsak, located just 400 m from the Seatran Ferry entrance.

The bungalows are simple, clean, and with everything you need, they also serve food with a simple menu as there’s nothing much around.

It was my preferred option as I arrived around 7 pm the day before and left the next morning at 5.30 am to catch the 6 am Ferry (you need to be 30 mn prior to departure with your vehicle)

How to book or get your tickets and price

You can book your ticket ahead on their website (recommended for cars) or do like me buy directly at the entrance of Seatran Pier on your way in at the first booth, just follow the way to the ferry and you will be stopped to buy your ticket.

For my Forza 350 and me the cost was 250 ฿ for a one-way trip.

Be aware that for the way back from Samui to Donsak you won’t be able to buy directly a ticket at the gate but you will have to go to their office, which is not too far but if like me you always wait the last minute to do things well it can be stressful 🙂
